3 DAYS MIKUMI
Visit one of southern circuit’s spectacular parks in Tanzania, Mikumi National park. The Mikumi is bordered to the south with the Selous Game Reserve, the two areas forming a unique ecosystem. The park contains a subspecies of giraffe, that biologists consider the link between the Masai giraffe and the reticulated or Somali giraffe. Other animals in the park are elephants, zebras, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests and buffaloes. At about 5 km from the north of the park, there are two artificial pools inhabited by hippos. More than 400 different species of birds also inhabit the park.
Day 1: Arrival in Mikumi and Game Drive
On the first day of your trip to Mikumi National Park, you’ll arrive at the park and be transferred to your lodge or camp.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on your first game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and various species of antelopes, and you’ll have the opportunity to observe these animals in their natural habitat.
The game drive will last for about 3-4 hours, giving you ample time to observe the animals and take photos. You’ll be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will provide information about the park and the animals you see.
After the game drive, you’ll return to your lodge or camp, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal. This is a great way to start your adventure in Mikumi National Park and get a taste of the amazing wildlife that can be found there.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive
On the second day of your trip to Mikumi National Park, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive. This will give you an even deeper experience of the park and its wildlife.
During the drive, you’ll have the opportunity to see different habitats, including savanna grasslands, forests, and rivers, as well as a variety of animals and birds. Mikumi National Park is home to over 400 species of birds, making it a great destination for bird watching.
You’ll be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will provide information about the park and the animals you see. They can also answer any questions you have and help you to get the most out of your experience in Mikumi.
The full-day game drive will give you a comprehensive view of the park and its wildlife, and is a great way to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this amazing protected area.
Day 3: Departure from Mikumi
On the final day of your trip to Mikumi National Park, you’ll have some free time in the morning to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You can take a walk around the lodge or camp, read a book, or simply take in the beauty of the park.
In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred back to Dar es Salaam or to your next destination. This will mark the end of your 3-day trip to Mikumi National Park, and you’ll have the memories and photos of your adventure to take with you.
